Microfilm copy of his detailed and interesting ts memoirs (435pp), written in 1945 - 1946, covering his service, as a Territorial Army officer, as the intelligence officer and assistant adjutant in the 4th County of London Yeomanry in the Western Desert from October 1941 until he was captured by the Germans near Sidi Rezegh on 24 November 1941, his evacuation from North Africa to Italy in the Italian submarine ADMIRAL MILO and his subsequent experiences as a prisoner of war in PG 75 (Bari, December 1941 - March 1942), PG 35 (Padula, March 1942 - July 1943) and PG 19 (Bologna, August - September 1943) from where he was moved by train to Germany following the Italian armistice and imprisoned in Oflag V A (Weinsberg, October - December 1943), Oflag VIII F (Mahrisch-Trubau, January - April 1944) and Oflag 79 (Brunswick) from May 1944 until the camp was liberated in April 1945 and he was repatriated. The memoirs include good descriptions of the varying conditions in the different camps and of the privations endured by the prisoners, notably at Bari and Brunswick (exacerbated at the latter camp by the effects of Allied air raids) as well as some sharp comments about the conduct of fellow officers in his Regiment and at the various prisoner of war camps.
