The Lodge of Friendship was named and established in 1776 and met at the Green Man Inn, Great Ilford, London. In 1784 the lodge moved from Great Ilford to the Golden Lion, High Street, Romford, Essex but in 1786 the lodge returned to Great Ilford, meeting at the Angel. The lodge was erased in 1789.
