Friendship, Lodge of, No. 439 [erased], Guernsey

Annual returns giving names, professions and residence of members of the Lodge of Friendship [Antients] and general correspondence relating to the running of the lodge.

Lodge of Friendship was granted a warrant by the Antients' Grand Lodge to meet as No. 343 on 31 August 1809 and the Lodge was named in 1822. The Fourth Garrison Battalion held the warrant and the Lodge meet at the Pier Barracks in Jersey, Channel Islands. In 1810 the Lodge met at the George and Dragon, Jersey. In 1812 the Regiment and Lodge moved from Jersey to Guernsey, Channel Islands, meeting at the Amherst barracks. In 1813 the Antients' and Moderns' Grand Lodges formed a union, its title changed to the United Grand Lodge of England. After this date the Lodge met as No. 439. On 19 May 1816 the Lodge was warranted as a civilian rather than a travelling military lodge. In 1822 the Lodge met at the Lyme Packet, Quay Street, Guernsey and in 1824 it relocated to its own lodge room in Le Marchant Street, Guernsey. The Lodge was erased in 1832.
