The Tettenhall Petty Sessional Division was the successor division to the Wolverhampton Petty Sessional Division covering essentially the same area. The court met once a week at the Town Hall, North Street in Wolverhampton, and dealt with minor criminal offences and civil matters such as licensing. A separate Juvenile Court was formed under the Summary Jurisdiction (Children and Young Persons) Rules, 1933.
The places in the division were as follows:
Bushbury, Codsall, Oaken, Patshull, Pattingham, Lower Penn, Upper Penn, Swindon, Tettenhall, Seisdon, Wednesfield, Wombourn and Wrottesley. By 1932 Pendeford had joined the divison, and by 1940 Bushbury and Upper Penn were no longer part of the division. Bushbury transferred to Wolverhampton Borough and part of Upper Penn came to Wolverhampton with the rest becoming part of the civil parish of Wombourn.
Following Local Government reorganisation in 1966, parts of the Petty Sessional Division of Tettenhall were transferred to the Wolverhampton Borough Magistrates' Court. The rest became part of South Staffordshire.
