Folios 460-461. Draft letter from the Local Government Board to R C Browne [Richard Charles Browne], Chairman of the Guardians of the Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union, regarding his appeal against the surcharge of £2 levied against him by the District Auditor. The Board state that, although the Auditor's decision was lawful under article 108 of the Consolidated Orders, under the circumstances they propose to remit it and enclose a certificate to that effect.
