Letters (most with envelopes) with the following dates (letters do not give a year-date - derived from postmark, where possible): (1) 22 February, 1925 (two sheets, with envelope, from Susan [ ], from Golders Green, referring to "your lessons with Arnold Bax"); (2) 8 July, 1925 (1 sheet with envelope); (3) 16 March, 1927 (1 sheet with envelope); (4) c1930 (1 sheet, without envelope, on paper headed Station Hotel, Morar, Inverness-shire, paper pre-printed with date "193-"); (5) 15 November, 1933 (1 sheet with envelope); (6) 13 January, 1934 (1 sheet with envelope); (7) 28 February, 1934 (1 sheet with envelope); (8) 30 November, 1934 (1 sheet with envelope); (9) 30 December, 1934 (1 sheet with envelope); (10) 3 March, 1935 (1 sheet with envelope); (11) 30 May, 1935 (1 sheet with envelope); (12) 16 June, 1935 (1 sheet with envelope); (13) 16 November, 1935 (1 sheet with envelope); (14)11 March, 1942 (1 sheet with envelope - "Thank you so much for your very kind congratulations upon my unexpected appointment"); (15) 24 April, 1942 (1 sheet with envelope - "Here are a few words which I hope may be useful to you, though I don't see how the Ministry of Labour can make use of your capabilities, unless by giving you an organising entertainment job..." - reference not with letter - see IPR/1/8); (16) 17 August, 1942 (1 sheet with envelope - "Here is a short note to Bliss. I hope he will see you and have a talk..." - note not with letter); (17) 24 September, 1942 (1 sheet with envelope - Bax has written to Sir Malcolm Robertson and hopes "that all may turn out well"); (18) 29 October (1 sheet, without envelope - "I have been interested in reading your quartet and should like to have an opportunity of hearing it in the flesh, so to speak. It seems to me to be very well shaped but on paper perhaps a little under-nourished ... I should have liked to have had a few bits of rich warm contrapuntal writing....").
