Description

Folios 165-166. Letter from James Saunders, Clerk to the East Dereham Local Board in the Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union, to the Local Government Board, replying to their query contained in their letter dated 24 March 1885 concerning the tenure of the land in the third part of the schedule to the agreement between the Local Board and the East Dereham Gas Light and Coke Company for acquiring that land. He writes that the land is held under a 99year lease from 28 May 1868. He also requests for progress to be made by them further to the notice of the provisional order so that he can proceed in the taking of a loan with a view to settlement with the vendors at an early date.

Copy of Telegram from Local Government board to James Saunders, Clerk to Local Board East Dereham 'Draft Provisional Order for Gas Undertaking goes to you tonight and must be returned by Monday morning next'.
Annotated: 'Please refer to order department on [25 March 1885]', 27 March 1885.
