Description

Richard James Marsh of 22, Lower Belgrave Place, Pimlico, co. Middlesex, gent., of the first part; George William Marsh of the same place, chemist and druggist, and elder son of Richard James Marsh, of the second part; Edward James Marsh of the same place, gent., second son of Richard James Marsh of the third part; and John Youd of Park St., Hopkinsons Yard, Nottingham, gent., of the fourth part.

Reciting the will of George Marsh, 27 Dec 1825, and codicils of 23 Oct 1829 and 22 May 1833: the death of George Marsh, 11 Dec 1833: sale of freehold and copyhold lands in Essex, by his executors, to pay off principal money due on an earlier mortgage: death of Mary Marsh, widow of George Marsh, Mar 1842: assurance policy 8 Nov 1845, for £600 on the life of George William Marsh: and that Richard James Marsh has applied to John Youd to loan him £600 on security of the following lands in Bargh.

(i) 9 parcels of land in the tenure of Mr. Hattersley, junior and called the Homestead, 32 poles; the Garden Piece, 29 poles: the Croft Piece, 1 acre 1 rood 28 poles: the Quarry Close, 5 acres 2 roods; Long Dickwood or Long Close, 4 acres 3 roods 21 poles: Dickwood Piece, 4 acres 2 roods 30 poles: Great Ing Piece, 6 acres 3 roods 37 poles: Wood Ing, 11 acres 1 rood Wood Ing, 1 rood 17 poles.

(ii) Parcel of land occupied by T. Mallison, called the Road, or Long Balk, 2 roods 36 poles.

(iii) Three parcels of land occupied by T. Silverwood, called the Homestead, 25 poles: Homestead and Orchard Croft or Garden Piece 35 poles: Orchard Croft, 2 roods 6 poles: Top Croft, 1 acre 1 rood 35 poles: Broom Croft, 2 roods 10 poles: Broom Croft, 3 roods 27 poles: Upper Six Acre Carr, 7 acres 10 poles: Slade Nether Carr, 7 acres 21 poles: Great Nether Carr, 2 acres 2 roods 23 poles.

(iv) Parcels of land now occupied by W. Taylor, called Far Nether Carr, 11 acres and Long Claycliff, 1 acre 19 poles.

All the above lands contain together 73 acres 3 poles, and are the remaining part of the lands in Bargh, devised by the will of George Marsh to R. J. Marsh.

For £500 principal, and Marsh further assigns the above mentioned assurance policy, as additional security.

To specified trusts.

Endorsement: redemption of mortgage.

Edward Manfull and Thomas James of Nottingham, of the first part, and George Marsh of the second part.

Reciting the will of John Youd of 11 Feb 1851, appointing William Kitchen and John Robinson his executors: the deaths of Kitchen and Robinson and the appointment of Manfull and James as executors: death of Richard James Marsh, 1855.

By this indenture, on payment of the £500 principal still outstanding, the lands are reassigned to George Marsh.
