Contains manuscript personal name indexes to the volumes of Archdeaconry Court accounts, inventories (detailed lists of the deceased's belongings and their values), will registers (official transcript copies of wills (written document by which a person declares his or her intent for the disposition of property and rights after his or her death) without the original signatures) and probate grant acts entered by the Registrar after probate was granted) and administrations (documents appointing individuals to supervise the estate's distribution when a person died intestate (without making a will) relating to the Diocese of Canterbury probate court records (referenced DCb/PRC) indicated in the catalogue.
Also includes indexes to Prerogative Court of Canterbury (PCC) wills and administrations (1855 - 1857), the court with the highest jurisdiction in the Southern Province of the Church of England.
