Ms diary (54pp) for December 1942 - August 1945 kept by a sergeant in the RASC, beginning with a retrospective account of his service with 29 CMTD in Singapore from late November 1941 until the surrender, of his employment as a driver for the Allied-Japanese liaison officers immediately following the capitulation and of the Selarang incident, but principally giving a contemporary record of his experiences as a prisoner of war in Changi camp, Singapore, with a particular emphasis from 1943 onwards on documenting the increasing shortage of food and its effect on his and his fellow prisoners' health and morale; together with 17 hand illustrated and typed programmes for concerts and other entertainments produced in Changi.
