Loftus Iron Co. Ltd owned the mine at Loftus, North Yorkshire from 1872 until 1880 (being taken over by Skinningrove Iron Co. Ltd.) . The company was involved in a court case regarding trespass in 1874. In May 1875, the Great Western Railway and Loftus Iron Co. Ltd. made an agreement for a siding at Llantrissant (Wiltshire and Swindon Archives).
