30 horse power double-acting sun & planet engine, with 28? inch cylinder, 6 foot stroke, parallel motion, cast iron beam, cast iron connecting rod.Coloured original and reverse general view and plan of the engine and boilers, longitudinal section of the boiler; reverse plan and sections of the engine and boiler houses, framing and cistern, marked "This fair copy made Nov. 1827"; working gear - coloured original front and side view; note about the engine house and framing drawings in John Southern's hand, dated 23 Mar. 1802. All the drawings bear letter codes.
Original Portfolio or 'Book' No. 453. Catalogue of Old Engines p. 16.
For Daniel Lees. Cotton mill, Oldham. Lees originally ordered a 24 horse power engine.
