Description

This handwritten essay devised by J R of Derby 1690, is a critique of Edward Stephen's "Reflections upon the occurrences of the last year, from 5 Nov. 1688 to 5 Nov. 1689
wherein the happy progress of the late Revolution and the unhappy progress of affairs since are considered, the original of the latter discovered and the proper means for remedy proposed and recommended".

The first page contains "an advertisement to the reader" and is signed "A well wisher to truth, to my King and to my country, J.R". It is not clear who wrote this manuscript copy.
