Quarter-bound red cloth album (binding weak and partially detached, album block broken, spine missing), measuring 241x312mm, with prints of various sizes pasted in. The majority have brief handwritten captions. The majority of the prints are amateur work of little merit and limited interest and only a small proportion of the photographs have individually catalogued. The contents of the album as a whole can be broken down into the following broad topics:. Prints 1-14 Snapshots of military scenes in the Middle East, some identified as 'Bushire 1915-16'. Prints 15-18 Sanpshots at Lahore, 1916. Prints 19-44 Military scenes and portraits at Dera Ismail Khan, 1917. Prints 49-147 Views and scenes in Chitral district, including the visit of Sir George Roos Keppel, Commissioner of the NWFP to Chitral in May 1918, Chitrali sports, celebration of 'Bulgaria Day'. Prints 148-155 Snapshots of the Third Afghan War of 1919: captured Afghan prisoners, guns, etc. Prints 156-88 Views at Fyzabad, Lucknow and Iraq, 1921-c.23.
