'Broadcast in 1963, and partly inspired by the BBC Radio Ballad, 'On the Edge', this film documentary looks at the opinions, dreams, and social attitudes of teenagers in Sheffield. The film follows a young woman, Marlene Loftus, who travels to Sheffield and attempts to find freedom in relinquishing conformity. Marlene and other young people discuss their perspectives on marriage and child-bearing, work and unemployment, freedom, religion and death.
