Registers of recognizances to answer, to prosecute etc.; state name, abode and sometimes occupation of persons, with note of discharge, traverse etc. Estreats, calendars and indictments occasionally appear in general volumes. Register of recognizances: traverse (5 files); name persons bound to appear and prosecute their traverses stating abode and occupation of all parties with penal sums. These may be used as indexes to the main series of Recognizance rolls as they bear corresponding numbers.
