Description

Grantham, Wrest to Fritz

Lord W.[Weymouth?] speaks so positively in his note about not being on the Board it appears the Presidence[?] itself would not satisfy him. Anxious to know the end of it all.

Assurance that Fritz is ever in his thoughts etc...

Has ridden around this Place with Mr. Yorke, much more beautiful than he thought. Yorke going to Yorkshire soon with his brother Charles, thence to Ireland. Hoping to distract him from an idea of entering the Sea Service. Fritz's good sense in never contemplating it.

The Dear Boy [nephew] charming as usual, regret at not seeing Grantham is genuine. Letter from Grantham to Fritz in Town, will write to Saltram according to Fritz's motions.

Sending directions[to Newby Park] to wash beds. Doesn't care about curtains but bugs must be expelled. Belwood writes that the house looks tolerably well.

Cannot account for Fritz not hearing from his yesterday etc... [timing of a letter from Stanmer crossed out].

Lord Hyde's Match not believed [by all at Wrest] as they would have heard it from Lord Trevor who came from the Grove, or Lady Clarendon who wrote recently.

Their love to all at Saltram etc...
