Whilst advancing he discovered that a great portion of the line was still occupied by the enemy. He at once consolidated just short of the line. His foresight enabled him to occupy the line later on.;
Other Data: MC presented to recipient's father, Mr A Baxter, by King George V, at Ibrox Park, Glasgow on 18/9/1917 - see OMRS Journal Vol 43, No1;
