Many of the documents have in the past suffered severely from damp, and several of the deeds are illegible in places.
Administrative / biographical background

Joseph Collett founded a charity in 1621 for ten poor people (five men and five women) of Wimborne Minster, to be distributed yearly out of the profits of land and property in Corfe Castle. (Charity Commission Report, 1835, pp 168-169).
