Formed c.1920 this Society was, according to Barrett's Directory of Blackburn (1939) "an amalgamation of the Grimshaw Park, Daisyfield and Blackburn Industrial Co-operative Societies Ltd. The society has approximately 25000 members ... the chief premises are situated in the centre of the town, at the junction of Town Hall Street and Northgate".
