RCP-LEGAC/2411/79. Francis Raymond Mitchell Heggs. Manuscript letter [to Dr. Ormerod] stating that at request of R.C.P he had removed the title "Doctor" from his plate; that a practitioner with qualifications similar to his own was now styling himself "Doctor"; and asking whether the Bye-Law forbidding use of title without an appropriate degree was still in force. 3 March 1910. With note by Dr. Ormerod that the Bye-Law still held good.
RCP-LEGAC/2411/80. Francis Raymond Mitchell Heggs. Letter (unsigned) to Dr. Ormerod informing him Alan Percival Watkins, who was M.R.C.S. L.R.C.P only, had assumed the title "Doctor" on his door-plate. 8 March 1910.
RCP-LEGAC/2411/81. Dr. Ormerod. Manuscript letter to Alan Percival Watkins, calling his attention to Bye-Law 179 which for bade the use of the title "Doctor" without having the University Degree which would authorise it. 11 April 1910.
RCP-LEGAC/2411/82. Francis Raymond Mitchell Heggs. Manuscript letter to Dr. Ormerod informing him Alan Percival Watkins still had title "Dr" on his door plate, and stating that if this were allowable he would like the College's consent to do the same himself. 11 April 1910.
RCP-LEGAC/2411/83. Alan Percival Watkins. Manuscript letter to Dr. Ormerod stating he had not been aware that under Bye-Law 179 he was not allowed to put "Dr". on his plate; and asking whether this applied to a neighbouring practitioner who was M.R.C.S. L.R.C.P. and had "Dr" engraved on his plate. 13 April 1910
With draft reply from Dr. Ormerod stating that "M.B."'s were given title Doctor as a courtesy title, but he could raise the question with the Censors' Board if he wished. 19 April 1910.
RCP-LEGAC/2411/84. Francis Raymond Mitchell Heggs. Manuscript letter to Dr. Ormerod informing him that Alan Percival Watkin's plate continued to bear the title "Doctor". 8 May 1910.
