Doric Lodge was granted a warrant by the Antients' Grand Lodge to meet as No. 96B on 13 January 1812. The Lodge met at the Commercial Inn, High Street, Aldeburgh, Suffolk. Just after the union between the Antients' and Moderns Grand Lodges in 1813, the Lodge was renumbered to meet as No. 120. In 1812 the Lodge was named Pilots' Lodge but in 1824 the Lodge was renamed as Doric Lodge. In January 1824 they received permission to relocate to the Bull Inn, Woodbridge, Suffolk and later in 1824 they were meeting at a private room at Doric Place, Woodbridge. The Lodge was renumbered to meet as No. 96 in 1832 and was granted its present number No. 81 in 1863. The Lodge now meets at the Masonic Hall, New Street, Woodbridge.
