Folios 209-210. Letter from James Saunders, Clerk to the East Dereham Local Board in the Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union, to the Local Government Board, in reference to their letter of 18 April 1885. He writes to say that he communicated their requirement to the solicitor of the gas company and in reply received from them a letter a copy of which he encloses. He assumes that the will receive a satisfactory communication from the gas company's solicitor tomorrow and therefore requests that the order may be sent to him by tomorrow nights post to ensure its insertion in the Dereham and Fakenham Times on Saturday next.
Copy of a letter from Cooper and Norgate to James Saunders dated 20 April 1885, states that 'you can telegraph to the Local Government Board that they will receive a satisfactory communication from the Company tomorrow morning through their London solicitor. You will not therefore hear further from us'
