Depositor was born in 1918 in Cornwall Buildings, on the corner of Derby Street, Southall Street and Cheetham Hill Road, in Strangeways. Her mother was a Jewish Immigrant from Romania and her father came from Austria as a child. He worked as a cap presser. Clara went to the Jews School and became a raincoat machiner. She married in 1938.
