Lease (99 years) by Christopher Herring yeoman of Swindon and Richard York joiner churchwardens of Swindon Thomas Goddard gent, of London, Thomas Vilett the younger, Thomas Waite yeoman, William Lawrence mercer, and William Restall, feoffees and trustees of the parish lands of Swindon, to Richard Goddard: the Market House in Swindon (which at the request of the inhabitants of Swindon was accepted by Thomas Goddard father of the lessee to be converted from a church house, wherein a few poor people in receipt of alms were dwelling, into a market house.
