392. Peter Marsland, Stockport (DD). Mar. 1806, Mar. 1807. 5 items.
45 horse power crank engine, with [33 1/3 inch cylinder, 7 foot stroke], parallel motion, cast iron beam, [cast iron connecting rod].
Also fire extinguishing apparatus 1807.Reverse plan and sections of the engine and boiler houses and boilers; sketch plan of the engine and boiler houses marked "Proposed alteration of engine house", drawn on the back of a map of part of the Irish coast. The engine house drawings bear letter codes.
Also drawing of various components of extinguishing apparatus dated 17 Mar. 1807.Original Portfolio or 'Book' No. 574.
For Peter Marsland. According to the List of Engines made at Soho, this engine was for a cotton and weaving mill. However the plan of the engine and boiler houses shows a "corn mill end" of the premises. This engine was omitted from the Catalogue of Old Engines.
