Edward Stanford (1827-1904) was British cartographer and businessman. He was the founder of Stanford's Ltd., one of the most prolific map publishing firms of the late 19th century. Begun as a partnership between Stanford and map dealer Trelawney Saunders in 1848, the partnership had dissolved by 1853 when Edward Stanford assumed complete control of the business.
