Description

The lists were required by the Act to amend the Representation of the People of England and Wales, 2/3 William IV, c. 45 (1832) s.2, 46 and 55, which extended the borough of Rye to include surrounding parishes in the parliamentary division; also by virtue of the Representation of the People Act, 1867, which extended the borough franchise, and reduced the number of members for Rye to one

They give names, addresses, and nature of the voters' qualifications, and are signed by the Overseers of the Poor
