- communications from Ministry of Home Security regarding: maintenance of electric air raid warning sirens; recording and notification of air raid casualties; greyhound race meetings; working after the siren; emergency protection in factories;

- communications from Senior Regional Officer regarding: Mobile Canteens; air raid warnings; unexploded parachute mines; disposal of unexploded bombs; "raiders passed" signal; training of "Jim Crows"; damage to roads and bridges caused by enemy action; co-operation with military authorities; immobilisation of motor vehicles; suspicious signals, lights and flares; salary of Air Raid Precautions Officer, South West Bedfordshire Area; notification of red air raid warnings to schools; modified street lighting in Dunstable; use of basements of 15 Broadway and 94 Midland Road, Bedford, as air raid shelters; use of underground vaults at agricultural engineering works, Leighton Buzzard High Street as public shelters; underground effect of unexploded bombs; domestic surface shelters in Biggleswade;
