Rolls (by session) of recognizances to give evidence, for good behaviour, etc. Tipplers' recognizances are included from 1610. The details given are name, style and abode of persons bound, and original signatures of the two justices before whom the recognizances were taken. At the end of the nineteenth century the modern printed format appears. Rolls for years 1814-1857 (Mich.), 1867 (Mich.) - 1878 stored separately as recognizance books (Q/SPr) survive. These volumes may be used as indexes to the corresponding rolls.
