142. Charles Chaplin to ? M.P. Moore, 8 Feb., suggesting a notice over Brownlow's signature summoning an adjourned gaol sessions. 'At any rate do not put mine with Lord Brownlow's, or it will be called a job to get the clerkship for Mr. Burton.'

(Various letters from and concerning Philip Ball, now in the Fleet prison.)

235. Brownlow to Burton, Torquay, 23 Dec. Cannot attend the coming gaol sessions, but hopes for a large gathering to discuss the improvements to the gaol required by the Home Secretary
