On 6 July 1899 Walter Trower of 5 New Square, Lincoln's Inn, gent, conveyed a piece of land (26p, OS plot 666, plan) at the northern tip of Burwash Common, surrounded by roads, for £24 8s 7d to Lady Margaret Cecil of Holwood, Beckenham in Kent, spinster. Her executors sold the same plot (now OS plot 1537) for £30 to Frederick Capon of Crowhill Downe in Kent, farmer, on 24 November 1920. On 17 February 1921 he sold for £50 to Isaac Mann of Burwash Common, bailiff, who sold to William Fuller of Tower Street in Heathfield for £28 on 29 August 1931. Fuller, a general dealer and unable to sign his name, sold for £50 to Fred Hayward of The Oaks, Burwash Common, on 24 March 1933, and on 1 April Hayward sold for £60 to Richard Vivian Mansell of Oakdown, Burwash Common, who had purchased the Oakdown Estate from the executors of Lady Margaret Cecil on 31 July 1920. On 27 December 1945 Vivian, now of Bensfield in Wadhurst, sold the Oakdown Estate, including this parcel, to Margery Honor Miller of Guestling Lodge in Guestling, spinster, for £9500; part was sold on to a sub-purchaser for £2500. On 20 March 1946 Miss Miller sold parts of the Oakdown Estate (OS plots 1537, 1468, 1463-4, 1475, 1476 (part), 1493 (part) 1498 (part), in all 10.085 acres, to Cecil John Miles of Bunkers Hill for £1315. Miles sold all but this small plot to Mrs Margaret Ethel Palmer of Hackwoods, Robertsbridge, for £2300 on 27 April 1946.
