Title
Letter from Lady Catherine Ashburnham to Rupert Gunnis
Date
13 Jul 1943
Description

Has decided to keep up things at home to avoid the place becoming derelict, when she realized that circumstances and age prevented her from doing any active war work. Is very concerned about Sicily, where she wants to go after the war, and hopes that the Italians will give in before their country is destroyed. Heard this morning from Mrs Esdaile, who does not mention the bombing of 'EG' [East Grinstead].
