40 horse power double-acting crank engine, with 32½ inch cylinder, 6 foot stroke, parallel motion, cast iron beam, cast iron connecting rod.Reverse elevation of the engine, plan of the engine and boiler; reverse plan and sections of the engine and boiler houses and boilers; fly wheel; crank shaft; sketch plan and elevation of the engine house and part of the mill dated Manchester, 12 Jan. 1827; coloured cross-section of the water wheel, wheel race and mill, showing floors, shafts etc.; coloured section of the mill and engine house and plans of the "bottom room" and "carde room", showing floors, columns, shafts, water wheel etc. The reverse drawings bear letter codes.
Original Portfolio or 'Book' No. 822. Catalogue of Old Engines p. 80.
For Haussmann Frères, whose agents were Charles Imer Paulet & Co. of Liverpool. Cotton mill, Colmar, "Ht. Rhine". The firm became Haussman Jordan Hirn & Co., and wrote from Logelback in Dec. 1840 about increasing the power of this engine.
