15 June Information re. deed of agreement between Governor of Wyndowe Trust and the School Board (ownership of buildings, liability for expenditure etc.)

12 July Churchdown Brass Band members have new uniforms

15 July Dr. Smithe relates events of previous day when misdemeanours of the curate were laid before the Archdeacon, who declared that the curate must leave, either by giving notice and securing a testimonial, or by dismissal

24 July Curate gone on holiday without consent and leaving no address. Bishop has given consent to his being given 6 month's notice to quit

26 July Churchdown valuation. Acreage 2565 acres, 2 woods, 29 perches Gross value £10055 - 7s Retail value £8854

23 Aug. Mr. and Mrs. Brown (nee Richmond) arrived at their residence in Sandfield last night and was said to have been married yesterday morning in London

28 Aug. Story of Edworth Park [?Edgworth]

22 Sept. Reference to new G.W.R. Station in Cheltenham - a decided improvement

13 Oct. Agreed to become Secretary of the Conservative Club

5 Nov. Area of land at his houses calculated

15 Nov. Windowe vault in church opened. States that the coffins had been ransacked and broken up with the idea of finding rings "(but of this we said nothing)"

Quasi parish meeting held to elect Parish Council (two of those elected "are not on the Rate Book")

22 Nov. Discussed with Dr. Smithe details of the stained glass East window. Major Windowe proposes to give in memory of his ancestors

24 Nov. A new cottage is ½ up near Pirton Court, north side of the road

28 Nov. Invited to be the returning officer at the approaching election - agreed

4 Dec. Parish meeting, again to elect Parish Council. Rather disastrous and resulted in demand for a poll - to take place on Dec. 17

17 Dec. Poll for Parish Council, also for District Council. Results set out

3 Jan. First meeting of Parish Council. Mr. J. H. Jones elected Chairman

10 Jan. Dr. Smithe reported that Maj. Windowe was dead; he had received a telegram asking if the body might be buried in the Wyndowe vault. He agreed to its burial in the Wyndowe vault on S. of chancel outside

13 Jan. Very deep snow. Descended from church down Ash Furlong to gate opening on Causey Croft Lane [now known as Crifty Craft Lane]. to escape deed drift

14 Jan. Major Wyndowe's funeral described

22 Jan. Curate conducted a funeral - his last duty before leaving

26 Jan. Concern lest some cheques received in respect of taxes would not be honoured "on account of the breaking of a Welsh Banking Comp"

2 Feb. Churchdown Benefit Society wound up - advertisement of dissolution in London Gazette etc.

4 Feb. Meeting of the 'Club'. Committee appointed Dr. Prance chosen as the Medical officer. (Dr. Belcher to be given notice to resign) All passed off very amicably

10 Feb. The stained glass windows in the chancel looked well

17 Feb. Evidently a second stained glass window was also provided - by Dr. Smithe in memory of his wife. No faculties had been applied for in either case!

23 March Paid 10/-s. for his services on the election day

28 March Parish Council asked for a better or earlier delivery of letters to all. Numbers of acres in parish stated to be 2692 - 1d rate producing £36.17.0.

18 April Approach to be made to Med. Off. of Health re. "sanitary matters" at the Grotto. (4 children had died there within the month)

25 April Son will selected to attend Sir Thomas Rich. school (fees paid by Wyndowe Trust)

2 May Very full account of lecture on keeping poultry

9 May Plot of land to north of his for sale at 2/- per sq. yard - total price £140. Asked Mr. J. H. Jones to advance money for it. To pay peppercorn rent for right to use the alley

29 May Heard a Coalman hold forth re. his experiences in the work of the "Conversion" (of the Broad to the Narrow Guage [sic])
