Description

The letters include correspondence to William Grey Clarke, Grand Scribe E, Supreme Grand Chapter from John Williams, Past First Principal, Key Stone Chapter, No. 4, Fort Saint George, Madras and J C Morris, acting Pro Grand Recorder for the Provincial Grand Superintendent, Coromandel Coast concerning delays in registering the Chapter, attached to Lodge of Social Friendship, No. 495 [SN 1101], with the Supreme Grand Chapter due to the illness of Edward Gordon, Provincial Grand Recorder, including a return of Chapter members including John Williams as First Principal, Henry Philip Lear as Second Principal and Edward Spring as Third Principal and an extract from the Chapter minutes relating to the Chapter's constitution attended by George Lys, Provincial Grand Superintendent, assisted by Edward Gordon, Provincial Grand Recorder and Lieut. Col. Smith of the Honourable East India Company’s Service [ HC 14/D/1-3]; and correspondence relating to problems between George O’Donnell, Benjamin Fox Duncan and other companions in Morning Star Chapter, No. 614, Rangoon, Burma, attached to Star of Burma Lodge, No. 614 [SN 2121], meeting under the District Grand Lodge of Bengal including copies of letters between these members and E E Locke, District Grand Scribe E of Bengal; Colonel A J Greenlaw, Past Senior Grand Warden and Hugh David Sandeman, Grand Superintendent, District of Bengal [ HC 14/D/4 - 8].
