<p>The records of King Edward's Hospital Fund for London, which are held here, include reports on visits made by the King's Fund to the Hendon Group in 1953-1959 (reference A/KE/735/29) and in 1960-1968 (reference A/KE/738/28). The King's Fund also gave advice to Edgware General Hospital on medical record keeping 1948-1960 (reference A/KE/729/27) and on catering in 1954 (reference A/KE/716/64).</p>

As these records are Public Records, they are closed to public access for 30 years. Any records in which patients are identified are closed for 100 years.

Hendon Group Hospital Management Committee was set up in 1948 by the North West Metropolitan Regional Hospital Board to manage the following hospitals and clinics - Edgware General Hospital, Bushey Maternity Hospital, Hendon District Hospital, Colindale Hospital, Hendon Isolation, later West Hendon Hospital, Roxbourne Hospital, Oxhey Grove, Stanmore Cottage Hospital, Harrow Chest Clinic and Edgware Chest Clinic. Records from the first three hospitals have also been transferred to the Greater London Record Office. Kingsbury Hospital was added to the Group in 1972.

A major reorganisation of the standing committees and the administrative structure took place in 1966-1967. The Group hospitals were formed into three main functional sub-groups, namely:-

The Staff and Establishment Committee, the Finance and General Purposes Committee and the Works and Building Committee were replaced by the Finance and Staff Committee and the Planning and General Purposes Committee. The six Hospital Committees were replaced by three Hospital Committees, one for each main sub-group.

Hendon Group Hospital Management Committee ceased to exist in 1974 when the National Health Service was reorganised.
