SION COLLEGE: REGISTER OF LONDON INCUMBENTS

A list of London livings with the names of their incumbents, the dates of their institutions etc. beginning Jan 1 1770'. A register begun at Sion College in 1770, and kept up to date there until 1839, recording livings in the City and suburbs of London and their incumbents. The register is in effect a record of the Fellows of Sion College. It is arranged by livings, recording the institutions, resignations or deaths of incumbents, their gifts of a guinea to Sion College Library, offices held in the College etc. Included are earlier details concerning incumbents already holding their livings in 1770. At the opposite end of the volume are papers relating to the estates and finances of Sion College in 1770. Inscriptions inside the front and rear covers record that the [blank] volume was given by James Townley, President of Sion College, in 1770. 1-86. 'Estates appropriated to the ten almesmen and the ten almeswomen in and belonging to Sion College'. 129-130. 'Estates given by Dr. Thomas White to Sion College...' 131.
