This union was formed in 1971 by a series of amalgamations of different trade unions. In 1970 the Amalgamated Society of Woodworkers and the Amalgamated Society of Painters and Decorators joined together to form the Amalgamated Society of Woodworkers and Painters. This union was then joined by the Association of Building Technicians, who were followed by the Amalgamated Union of Building Trade Workers. The union then became known as the Union of Construction Allied Trades and Technicians.

The U.C.A.T.T. records are listed first, then the records of the constituent unions, then miscellaneous items.

D/DS 30 contains papers re membership returns for various unions.
