The archive includes all the historical documents relating to the manors of Manydown and Woodgarston, and in addition two groups of documents. The first, is a group of documents relating to the Dicker family, purchased in 1949. In Col. Bates' index they are dealt with separately, but in the following list they have been incorporated with the rest of the collection, and marked (DB). The second group contains documents from Lamb, Brooks and Bullock. These, too, have been incorporated with the collection, and marked (LBB). All the documents that were listed or transcribed by Col. Bates have a reference to the volume and page of his index; for example, M1 has the reference Vol. 5, p.106 (5.106).
