Description

Agenda papers including, amongst other things:

- volunteers sleeping at St.Paul's Church Room;

- routine for First Aid Post exercises;

- communications with Home Office regarding: street lighting; supply and use of petrol for civil defence purposes; offers of service from boys under 16; taking of premises for civil defence purposes;

- communications with Ministry of Health regarding: dietary of service patients in hospitals; First Aid Post at The Lawns, Biggleswade; combined First Aid Post and clinic in Dunstable; payment of fares of necessitous relatives visiting casualties and transferred patients in outer hospitals; deceased transfer patients; ambulance attendants;

- timber for Air Raid Precautions purposes in schools;

- communications with Senior Regional Officer regarding:

purchase of detector discs; Regional Training Scheme;

Air Raid Precautions badges; trailers for rescue and decontamination squads (Borough of Bedford); Borough of Bedford incendiary bomb hut; use of Sandy Liberal Club and Mogerhanger Village Hall; Borough of Bedford fixed gas chamber; salary of Assistant Air Raid Precautions Officer; discontinuance of factory sirens in Harrold; air raid warnings at Meltis Works; recreational facilities for Bedford Borough Air Raid Precautions personnel; additional shelter accommodation in Dunstable; shelter accommodation in Leighton Buzzard; County Control Centre in Bedford;

- manning of Kempston Report Post;

- Press & Censorship Bureau - broadcast of floods;
