Immediate source of acquisition
The series was transferred to the archives from the Botany Department office in 1990.
Administrative / biographical background

From 1885 until the Second World War, the Cryptogamic Herbarium was located in and between the central towers of the Museum, on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors. After the War, the General Herbarium and Library moved into the 2nd floor west wing, while the Cryptogamic Herbarium moved into the 2nd floor of the east wing, below the new exhibition mezzanine.
