29th April 1858. J.Hicklin from Queen's Park, Chester, to E.Roberts, Esq., City Treasurer. He hears that the Salisbury Party want the Hall for May 11 - and asks that they be persuaded to take May 10 and he will induce Thiodon to let them have it for that night - i.e. if the Company's Solicitor decided it may be so used. If they give it up for May 10 he hopes that Roberts will bear Thiodius' civility in mind when they settle should his exhibition not answer, although he does not anticipate failure.

22nd Oct. 1858. J.Jones, Secretary of the Chester Christian Temperance Society, from Westminster Buildings, Chester, to P.S.Humberston, Esq., Mayor of the City of Chester, viewing with pain the demoralization consequent upon the free giving away of intoxicating drinks at Municipal Elections, they send a Memorial requesting the Mayor to publish the law upon the subject of Municipal Elections. 17th Dec. 1858. N.Currey from Crewe, asking how many people the Music Hall can hold and the terms per night for concerts. He wishes to know if it is engaged for the evenings of Jan. 21st, 31st and Feb. 1st, 1859.
