Folio 144. Letter from Walter May Barton, Clerk to the Guardians of the Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union, to the Local Government Board. He writes in reply to their letter of 18 February, which enclosed an extract from the auditor's report on the accounts of the overseers of Welligham in the Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union. He explains that an enquiry has revealed that an error in accounting was made by the daughter of one of the overseers. He includes details of all amounts involved by way of explanation.
