Cornish Mine Engines (22 items).

1289. United Mines, Poldory. May 1779, Apr. 1780. 22 items.
Single-acting engine, with 48 inch cylinder, 8 foot stroke, chain connection.

Set of numbered coloured drawings, 1779:
[No. 1 not used]; No. 2 - general view of the engine; No. 3 - inside view of the engine and longitudinal section of the boiler; No. 4 - outside front view of the engine and part of the boiler; No. 5 - ground plan of the engine and boiler and cross-section of the boiler; No. 6 - first floor plan of the engine and boiler; memorandum "Reference to Drawings No. 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6."

For United Mines. Poldory Mine was part of the United Mines. According to the List of Engines made at Soho, the engine stopped in Dec. 1794 when the cylinder had worn out completely, and it was replaced by a 60 inch engine formerly at Pool Mine.
