For Combe Delafield & Co. Brewery, Castle St., Long Acre, St. Martin in the Fields, Westminster, London. The engine was actually made in 1827, but not sold to Combe Delafield & Co. until 1833. The firm bought a 10 horse sun and planet engine in 1787, which they had increased to 26 horse power [see Portfolio 5/27]. This is the beam engine depicted in the drawings to which the Cornish boiler was applied in the 1850s.
