Vacuum and Blowing Engines (14 items).
Double-acting engine, with 48 inch cylinder, 8 foot stroke, parallel motion, cast iron beam.
Coloured original and reverse longitudinal section of the engine house showing the engine and blowing cylinder, reverse plan of the engine house and boilers, coloured original and reverse cross-section of the engine house and boilers, view of the lever wall; blowing cylinder - partially coloured original and partially coloured reverse drawings (the drawing was also used for JQL B. Gibbons & Co. 1809 and JVT William Taitt, 1810); main plummer block - reverse drawing; sketch plan of the engine house and situation of the boilers at the ground floor; external elevation and plan of the engine house; press copy sketch elevation and plan showing the engine working a crank shaft as well as a blowing cylinder (this is stuck on the back of an outline plan of the premises); sketch of the throttle valve sent by James Lawson, 1 Dec. 1806. All the drawings except the last 4 items bear letter codes.
