Annual return giving names, professions and residence of members of Lodge of Freedom [Moderns] with general correspondence relating to the running of the lodge. Years 1772 - 1775, 1777 - 1785 are not extant.

Administrative / biographical background

Lodge of Freedom was granted a warrant on 4 June 1772 by the Moderns' Grand L:odge to meet as No. 430 at the King's Head, Maldon, Essex. The Lodge relocated to the Bull Inn, Maldon in 1777. It was renumbered as No. 338 in 1780 and as No. 339 in 1781. The Lodge was erased on 23 November 1785.
