In pursuance of the resolution at last sessions to borrow £2,000 for building the new gaol, the following have been advanced: £500, Sir William Lemon; £500, Edward Eliot, esq.; £200, John Call, esq.; £200, William Dennington, esq.; £100, Henry Rosewarne, esq.; £150, Christopher Slogget; £250, Elizabeth Bennett, spinster; £100, Dorothy Bennett, widow. Agreements to repay these loans, with interest, and also the £300 loan of William Masterman, esq., confirmed.
