Imprint: [Madras, 1860.]. Large folio volume measuring 457 x 570 mm in modern brown buckram binding, with letterpress titlepage and contents page, and nine prints laid down onto pages impressed with Tripe's drystamp (initial 'T.L.' within strap reading 'Government Photographer', surmounted by sun with human face). Each print has a small letterpress number label pasted next to the the top right corner, but there is no letterpress apart from the titles given on the contents page. The volume is one of a series of publications issued between 1859-60 from Tripe's work as Government Photographer to the Madras Presidency (the complete series comprises Photo 950-958).
